Pixel 5 connection

I have a sim free Pixel 5 which until today worked brilliantly! Now I cannot get map up on screen...just a flashing 'map' sign at bottom. I have an iPhone which works so no issues with TFT, I just need help in connecting the Pixel...something to do with WiFi/Bluetooth settings on phone. I have reloaded app and reconnected phone.
