Final drive

Post by Spikey123 »

Hi All
I have a 57 plate 07/08 1200rt
I had an oil leak at the final drive and when you ran the bike looked like a buckled wheel so it's the internal bearings have gone so I purchased a secondhand drive from Germany and it eventually arrived it was in extremely good condition so I fitted and put 180ml of oil in but when I went to plug in abs sensor it does not fit the the new unit it is too big so I'm wondering if it's a case of purchasing a different sensor the vendor said it came off an 06 and although the part numbers are different what I had read was that August 06 the partnumber changed to what the original drive was so thinking it was just a part number change so any advice welcome

I can't see why getting the correct size sensor wouldn't work provided the plugs are the same too

According to bmw it may throw up an error on the dash because the abs rings may not be the same and the only way to check the abs rings is to open the 2 units and I don't have a 5 legged puller
Thankyou

If the abs ring is replaceable you could cross reference the part numbers to see if they are the same
