Garage Floor Tiles

I'm having a new bigger garage built and am looking at options to cover the concrete floor.

I think I've narrowed it down to interlocking PVC tiles and wondered if anyone else has done the same? I think the 'solid' tiles would be better than the foam ones, or the ones that come with a honeycomb back, as they need to take the weight of the RT and the bike lift.

Any pros, cons, or recommendations would be appreciated.

Hi

I have the plastic floor that looks like decking plate great for keeping the dust down and walking on no so good for using jacks and lifts. Laos it tends to walk a little and I have to reposition it which is a pain
Thinking of having a resin finish instead

I have Heuga carpet tiles on my concrete garage floor, cozy if need to be on the floor myself.

When the RT (or XJ650) is on its' centre stand, I just put a thin piece of plywood underneath to prevent indentations.

The car drives over them without leaving marks as the weight is more evenly distributed over the four tyres.

I've used some genuine Aldi heavy duty rubber backed / carpet top floor mats, each about 6x3ft. Can't remember what I paid, but being Aldi it wouldn't have been much. Four years later and with an R1250RT on it's side or centre stand on it and I'm in no hurry to replace then. I'm sure you'll be able to find something simlar from Screwfix or flormatRus.
A similar (but much smaller type of thing) here:-https://www.aldi.co.uk/workzone-scraper ... 6799716900

Oh, and if you've never said, I've just got to go and hoover the garage, it'll make you smile the first time you do it!

I wouldn't accept anything less than Axminster.

I've got these down in my garage workshop:

https://www.costco.co.uk/search?searchO ... d:Klikflor

They were easy to fit and are very hard-wearing. They've been down about 6 years and show no sign of wear. I do have a rubber-backed mat under my centrestand feet and another mat where I stand in front of my workbench. I put a foil membrane down on top of the concrete floor for insulation, with the tiles on top.

I've got rubber gym mats that I bought of Facebook Marketplace (commercial gym that is) very solid rubber and no problem putting my RT1200 on either stand with no dents when it's moved

I also used garage floor paint on the concrete to seal the concrete before I put them down to stop any damp coming through hopefully

Thanks. I've requested a sample.

After I've paid for the garage, I'll be lucky if I can afford a Poundland door mat!!

A "wide boy" next door was flogging a load of carpet tiles on eBay. From what I remember he wanted around a quid or more for each one.

I said, "I'll give you 50p each", he took it.

I have the 500mm square honeycomb back tiles. They are ok with the car parked on them but either of the stands on the bike will leave an impression.

They do a good job of keeping the dust down and are easy to keep clean, being the round disc style. I would imagine the five bar tread style would be bad to keep clean unless you vacuumed them!

100% wool Berber on half of my garage floor - gas fitter serviced the fire and used an orange smoke bomb to check the flue, half of it went up, half of it came out of the fire.....two industrial cleans later he had to buy us a new carpet.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.

After looking at a number of samples, I've ordered 34 square meters of these, plus a few ramps for the front edge.

It's difficult to tell the difference between their 'recycled' ones and their original ones, so I went with recycled. They are a bit cheaper.

I also treated myself to a couple of these too, whilst they're on offer.
