My 2009 RT is making clutch noises. In neutral when engine is warmed up it make a rattling noise. When I squeeze the clutch, noise goes away or is a lot less a least. I put on about 700 KMs ( about 450 Miles)since I bought it. Clutch seems to work normal. No slipping. Drove it to BMW dealership, shop manager listened to it, said it's louder than normal but should be good for another 20000 Kms. Bikes has about 65000 KMS.
What do you experts think. I'm concerned.

I read that this clutch noise could be in the slave cylinder. Is the release bearing in the slave cylinder???

What did the "expert" BMW shop manager think was the cause of the noise.

Is this the same problem identified in this thread, viewtopic.php?p=77530#p77530

AFAIK, don't think so.

Mine has a clutch rattle at tick over. I wouldn't worry, both my last air-cooler Boxers were the same. My RT has over 60000 miles on the clock. Unlike other bikes the boxer has a single clutch plate that looks like a car set up. It's a really old school design going back to the 30's Boxers. IRC newer boxers have a multi plate setup.
As long as the clutch is not slipping I wouldn't worry at all.It part of the BMW boxer air-cooled charm.
