Hi all, hoping someone on here has used the Garmin XT sat nav mount on the 1250 Rt with big TFT.
I've looked at various brackets but the 3D one sold by adventure bike uk seems pretty good, places the Nav in centre above TFT and uses 3m sticky, so no hole drilling.
Anyone used this and can provide feedback as to secure fit / no vibrations etc
I'm not a lover of using my phone for everything and having it on/ in the bike holder ( my apple phone won't fit anyway ).
Many thanks

"and uses 3m sticky,"
Modern glues can be good, I mean they bond aircraft together nowadays, but is sticky tape really designed to be used in the open, exposed to sun (with its associated UV degeneration), wind, rain and washed (even if only inadvertently) the aggressive chemical they use in snow foam? Then there is the fact that by their very nature motorcycle suspension it transmits far more of the roads bumps & thumps to cockpit than ever reaches the dashboard of a car. Lastly think about where you'd be mounting then XT, it's in that direct firing line to that transmitted force. Given an XT weighs 263grm (or over half a pound), that's quite a shock load the sticky tape has to deal with. I've been out of the industry that used specialist glues for a while now, but all I'll say is, new on a properly prepared surface and left to cure for 24hrs I’m sure it feel quite secure, but a few months & miles down the line with a bit of wear & tear and that’s one hell of a lot of faith you’re putting into square inch or two of sticky tape.*
My XT (on my dials 1250RT) sits in a cradle that has a nice secure & positive clunk click fit. (are we allowed to say clunk click nowadays?)
*Glad to be proven wrong if technology has moved on though.

I understand that the TFT securing brackets use self tappers on the same upper panel. Which seems a tough unit. So in theory you could drill a couple of screws to assist the tape. But I wouldn't like to start drilling into my bike, especially right on top of the dashboard.

Teleferizer mount puts the Garmin snugly in the center between the handlebars and just below the TFT screen. Perfect.

I've used the Wunderlich mount that admittedly is mounted via 3M adhesive pad but no problems have been encountered. The main issue I discovered was the interference from the TFT screen that stopped the XT getting a satellite signal so made up a shelf type device which I covered in copper tape and RFI tape and everything works ok now.
