Location of Photosensor for DRL / Low Beam

Hi All, I know it's been a bit grey & overcast over the last few days but my '18 R1250RT currently seems rather keen on automatically switching the low beam rather than having the DRLs on. My manual tells me there is a photosensor within the dashboard (top RH corner next to about the 4,500rpm point on the rev counter), but it also tells me it is for adapting the brightness of the instrument lighting. No mention of the controlling when the DRL/Low Beam swap over.

So the question to the hive mind is where is the light sensor for the DRL / Low Beam located? Hopefully it's either just come loose or got dirty and a tweak / clean will put it back to normal operation. If not, anyone ever replaced one?

funny you mention this, I was out on my RT on Saturday and noticed the low beam on a lot more than normal.... probably just the dull day?

I'm led to believe its the same sensor!

I noticed today that the lights was on constantly it was fairly dull but not always dull enough for the lights to be on! Drls would have been fine

I've got to admit that I also thought it might be the weather, but I didn't think it'd been that dull and there have been plenty of other times I've had it the other way round when I've manually put the lights on because I thought, hey, it's getting a bit dark & drab here, I want proper lights on hence me thinking the sensor may be playing up.
