Hi All,
Just got rid of my fun-for-an-hour S1000XR and replaced with a beautiful 2022 R1250RT - white with black trunk. I bought it with 4700 miles on it, and the previous owner added a few farkles for me - clear bag covers, extended rear fender (which I don't care for), and highway bars front and rear (really nice).

I have been riding Kawasaki Concours 14's as my last two sport-tourers with over 160,000 miles between 2 of them. I still have one, but I decided I'd like a bit more luxury for touring, but we'll keep the "muscle car" bike in the garage and not get rid of of it just yet...

I have about 150 miles on the new bike including about 70 in really bad wind and rain conditions. Passes all tests for me for sure! I am surprised how easy it is to ride and how quickly I've gotten comfortable on the bike.

Finally - I'm the author of "Ride Captains and Tail Gunners: The complete guide to motorcycle group riding". Got to meet a lot of great riders and looking forward to making more riding friends here. :)

Ride Safe Everyone!
Mark

Mark, the extended rear fender may just be the (adjustable) stock version, can't tell from your photto. There's a torx screw on the inside, loosen it and slide the bottom section up, then tighten again. 👍

Kept it for over a year... it was a blast to ride for an hour at a time. But in the end, I just didn't like it. Too uncomfortable (seat) even with mods done. I just didn't "love it". I kept the Concours 14. For those days when I want to ride a sportier, faster machine. But for touring, this RT is everything I wanted, and it is about 150lbs lighter than the Concours. The Connie is definitely faster, but I'm slowing down these days anyway and I don't have that need to always be leading in the front of the pack when we go to the mountains... I actually saw scenery on the Dragon last year! LOL.In 2025 I'm looking forward to doing twisties in the RT. I have about 250 miles on it now, and really REALLY falling in love with it!
