Re: Bridgestone T30 GT
Only the GT version should be fitted due to the weight of the RT.

Re: Ignition / Steering Lock
I have been checking the lock over the last couple of days and its working perfectly!!!
I did nothing apart from oil it on day 1. I will keep my eye on it and get it looked at during its next service.

Re: Ignition / Steering Lock
Cool thats a very helpful picture.
To remove the yoke. Take off the handle bars, pop off the BMW badge and underneath should be a big bolt?
If I remove the top yoke will the front of the bike collapse? Does it need to be supported?
I plan to take off at the weekend as I am nights atm ...

Re: Ignition / Steering Lock
Small update.
The locking slots on the frame look fine no apparent damage.
I have tried to look up from underneath cant see much. Nothing appears to be loose or show signs of foul play. (I know nothing happened yesterday as I was with it.)
Spare key makes no difference nor does normal wigging ...

Re: Ignition / Steering Lock
I would check where the steering lock slots into the frame first. If you have parked up somewhere and somebody has had a go at the lock by yanking on the bars this can damage the locking pin. It might unlock but not relock. If you go to Real OEM and look under Body Equipment the ...

Ignition / Steering Lock
Just come back from a ride in the sunshine and found that I couldn't get the steering lock on. The key would not turn regardless of which way the from wheel was facing. I oiled it up and that has not helped.
I have got it to work but that was luck I think.
Will a new lock tumbler do the job ...

I had one of those as a stable mate to my FJR for the 10 mile commute to inner London. The FJR hated it and the heat that use to come off it would cook a sunday lunch in no time!!
Cracking scooter that was very nippy use to upset the bigger bikes with it at the lights :D

Bridgestone T30 GT
As most people seem to have either Pilots or Z8 and the like. I have fitted Bridgestone T30s (GT) to my RT they are excellent did a quick weekend away and they were perfect. They felt better than a old ish set of Pilot 3s I had on it.
I know they are not "BMW Approved", like that matters but ...

Re: Top Box brake light using Skene P3
My P3 Skene lights have failed after 10 months for no obvious reason. Only half of the LEDs light up and only 2 LEDs light up for braking.
I bought them from the UK supplier and have emailed them. I await their reply.
I wouldn't mind too much but they were not cheap to start with.

Re: Light recommendation?
When you turn the ignition on you have a few seconds to change the settings on the brake light. Just squeeze the brake lever the right number of times.
