Re: Blood Bikes
I currently ride for SWBB. I normally do two days a month, if I wanted to do more it would be no problem as it’s usually the same people filling the gaps. As Devon is a big county it’s split into four areas, I’m in the east, with two riders on call. We seem to get the jobs with long rides, I was on ...

Re: Gearbox clunking
I think you’ll find that that’s one of the quirks of the RT. The gearbox can be described as ‘agricultural’, mine sounds the same as do most of them.

Re: More powerful horn
I’ve fitted a Denali horn to min. No problem fitting it as it’s compact but loud, https://denalielectronics.com/products/tt-sb-10200-b

Re: problem with DVLA
I remember years ago when I was a traffic cop, getting called to Woodall services by VOSA. They’d been doing some spot checks on LGV’s parked up and had found a driver without an LGV entitlement. Turned out that he’d renewed his licence and CE was missing. He produced a photocopy of his previous ...

Re: Horn for 2014 RTP
Our blood bike charity has recently acquired an RTP. The police wiring and equipment has been removed, but the dealer had to fit a separate switch and wiring to get the horn to work and pass the MOT. Why they haven't wired the horn directly to the horn switch is beyond me as to press the horn I have ...

Re: Oil Smell
That was my thought, as it happens so infrequently.EasyRider wrote: Sat Aug 10, 2024 10:42 am Could it be coming from the breather pipe on the engine cases. I'm not sure where or if the RT has one. just a thought ?

Re: Oil Smell
I get a burnt oil smell from mine now and then, when I'm stationary, smelt it this morning when I got home after doing 35 miles. There's no sign of a leak and the levels ok. I don't worry about it, I could always use a peg, problem solved.

Re: Battery Life
I replaced mine this year, it was the original battery. I suspected it was on the way out a while ago, but my Dutch trip this May forced me to do it. I was at the tunnel waiting to board, queuing in hot weather, didn't want the bike to overheat. It was stop start, got to the train and had to wait so ...

Took the bike in for its MOT, passed with flying colours. Only covered 2887 mile in 12 months, most of that was on my trip to Holland in May. Need to get out more!!

Re: Touring in the EU, unusual signs
Driving in Europe can be a minefield. Whilst I was serving in Germany in the army we had to take a European highway code test, even when visiting from the UK I was still required to take the test. Have a look at this site, https://bfgnet.de/matrix-test scroll to the bottom of the page and you can ...

Re: Body Weight, Belly Size
I had my annual MOT last week, after my heart attack 6 years ago. I’m 6’2” and still the same weight I was when I was 16, 76kg.
