Re: What did you do today?

Steve,

You need to listen out for the "Danger of Work" bell and then make your escape, before Senior Management hands you the decorating tools!

Still, plenty more good weather to come, if the forecasters have it correctly!

Re: Moderator

Well done Dr T for stepping up to help Stu and keep this great forum running.

I am always impressed by skills that others possess, which are way beyond my level of competence. Even better, a willing volunteer!

Re: Additional Mirrors

Mine do, but I bought folding ones (from Nippy Norman) so that they can be put into "park" position, when needed (Wunderlich Ergo). During normal riding, it is not an issue. Easy enough to reset, before starting off.

Re: Barn find

The problem with these old airheads is that they do not store well. It may have been a good runner, when stashed away. However, by now the gearbox output shaft bearings will have rusted, as the shaft sits above the gearbox oil. So, a gearbox out and overhaul is going to be likely (DAMHIK!). If every...

Re: What did you do today?

Had the clutch apart on my 1955 M65 Panther. One of the adjuster nuts made a bid for freedom, the other day. It's only been together for 30 years! Still, an opportunity to give the primary chain and sprockets a good look over, after I have cleaned off all of the swarf from the spring cup, which was ...

Re: What did you do today?

Popped out to Biggin Hill Museum, just to get a snap at the main gate. Low winter sun was a challenge, but clear blue skies and a drying track made up for it and worth the 170 mile round trip! At least the rain from "Bert" had washed away all of the salt! Tomorrow, we have more rain foreca...

Re: What did you do today?

Blue skies and a drying track, so out for a short ride, around the local roads. Bike was well "pumped up" for it, as the photo below proves!

Re: Portugal on a rental

+1 on Steve's comments. Done it twice in Australia, with no issues.

Enjoy your trip.

Re: What did you do today?

Finally got the RT out, on clean, dry roads. Just a nice bimble around the Oxfordshire countryside. Most of the villages are 20 mph limits now - it's getting like being in Wales, without the mountains!

Re: What did you do today?

Took one of my Panthers out for a spin - the lanes around here are still too mucky for the R1250RT!

Looks like it will be "BMW" weather on Saturday!

Re: Abba Stand

Try getting a Model 120 Panther onto its centre stand and you will realise that the RT is a doddle, by comparison. The Panther is much lighter than the RT, too!

Re: little Rant

I post when I have something which I think might be useful or interesting. Being a sad old anorak, that is not very often! I will admit that I am only really interested in RT related stuff, though I accept that others may want more of a community feel. Each to their own, I have no issues with that. ...

Re: What did you do today?

With a "drying track", I took out my little Panther, as she does not mind getting a bit wet. Just as well, 'cos quite a few roads were still flooded and required a bit of "wading". I thought the sign at Swallowfield (company name, not a danger sign) was quite appropriate. The R12...
