Re: What did you do today?
Well, I bit the bullet and coughed up £1.60/l for some Esso Premium (E5). I then used some of that for a trundle around the Oxfordshire villages, as the sun was out and blue skies abounded. I don't like to miss out on these days, they are not frequent enough! The temperature of 22C was real ...

Re: What did you do today?
This lovely warm (20C) dry and sunny weather tempted me out for a run to the seaside. Very quiet at Selsey, as the holiday park is not yet open for the season - that will come into force after Easter.

Re: Ridden a K1600GT..?
I had a K1600 for 2 years before getting my RT.
The K1600 is a great bike - brilliant engine and extremely comfy. I thought the reverse was a gimmick, but it actually got me out of a few situations, where I had (inadvertently) parked facing very slightly downhill.

Re: Tracker location
Bikes often get stolen from garages (in the UK at least) - even those with alarms, CCTV and bloody great locks!

Welcome to the forum.
Like you, my background includes being an IAM Observer and I also resisted going down the BMW boxer route. Eventually, I succumbed and first few months with an R100T had me thinking that I had bought a complete disaster. I stuck with it and eventually came to realise just how ...

Re: What did you do today?
Dry sunny day today - far too good to miss!
So, took a trundle around the Hampshire lanes, crossing Chilbolton Down, to Stockbridge. This road reminds me of riding the Eyre Highway in Australia, only a lot, lot shorter! Stopped off in King's Somborne, once home (or one of them) to John O'Gaunt ...

Re: What did you do today?
Had a nice ride around leafy Surrey today, with not much traffic, which was a plus. I had expected more folk to be out and about, it being a Bank Holiday weekend, but I'm not complaining!

Re: BMW R1300RT test ride and review
When I took my R1250RT in for its MoT recently, I had a new (400 miles) R1300RT as my loan bike. I managed put on another 150 miles.

Re: IAM Advanced Rider Course
Go for it - nothing to lose and potentially, much to gain.
When I was an IAM Observer, I used to get another Observer to do a check run with every person with whom I was working. That was more of a check on me, than them! As Steve says, we all make mistakes. I think the biggest mistake is sticking ...

Re: What did you do today?
As the the sun was out, went for a bimble around Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire. Only one road closure on my planned route (police had shut the A418 at Bierton) so had a small detour.

It still has the mirrors in the wrong place! (for me, anyway).
Did not see anything in the short clip that would prise open the Old Foxy wallet....
Sticking with my 2020 RT, which has a "proper" dash, at least. Yes, I'm a dinosaur....

I had the letter and a bit of paper to pop into the rider's handbook, related to this.
