Re: What did you do today?
boredom is a killer. For the first 2 years of retirement I hadn't a clue what to do until the wife bought me a can of paint. I never had that problem in the five years I've been retired. I can't figure out how I had time to go to work before. That said, I do pace my activities - and I have lots of ...

Re: Service Manual (not owners)
Nothing is available from authorized sources, you takes your chances with anything pirated. I've never come across anyone selling a pdf version as it would be a huge amount of work to convert the BMW software based manual into a pdf. Probably easier to get yourself on older windows computer to run t...

Re: Newbie, Surrey BC, Canada
They do, but the colour, the year and the 28L topbox and his location are all clues. My friend is from Burnaby which is part of the greater Vancouver area and he traded the bike in at the dealership the picture is in front of.

Re: Newbie, Surrey BC, Canada
Pretty sure that's the RT my good friend traded in last year for an R1250GS. If so, it's a good bike and you should really enjoy it. He needed the GS for our planned trip up to the Yukon ands Alaska last summer. This picture from 2023 was at Diablo Dam in Washington on our return from Oregon. PXL_20...

Re: Cell phone cubby removal (2022)
I did exactly what you want to do. You need to remove the side panel to access the screws that secure the compartment in place. Once it's removed from the bike, I found it was a bit delicate to get it opened up as the base piece is sealed to the upper half and needs to be very carefully pried apart....

Re: Heightened seat & lowered pegs experiences?
I ordered my RT with the factory high seat and keep it set in the high position. I had test rode a bike with the standard seat prior to purchasing mine and realized I wanted a bit more leg room. Though I'm only 5'11" I sport long limbs and have a 33" inseam thus the desire to stretch out a...

Re: I've been BANNED
My wife is a Financial Planner and I respect her advice when it comes to money. She tells me that since I'm retired I should no longer be accumulating wealth and I need to spend my income. Got any good links for E-bay or AliExpress?

Re: Who locks their bikes up for the winter?
I'm in the snow and ice climate region, so winter riding is seldom an option here. We had a good snowfall last week and the temps have been below the freezing mark since, so looks like no more riding at home until spring. I am going away for a month long tour in a couple weeks though in South Americ...

First RT owner
Found this forum while searching info for seats for my 23 RT with the 719 paint and trim. I've had it since April and have 10K km on it now. Love the bike. PXL_20230908_171707698.jpg Previous bike was an 08 K1200GT and a 94 R1100RS before that which I re-acquired in trade for the GT. My brother in l...
