Help needed on CarPlay connection

I originally posted my experiment in fitting this CarPlay screen back in February 2024. I must admit to feeling very pleased with myself over fitting the unit and running it very successfully. I managed to change my helmet to a Neotec3 from a Neotec2, with no fuss.

However, three weeks ...

Re: Abus Granit Sledg 77

Hi,
I am not familiar with the Abus Granit Sledg77 but I am very pleased with the Oxford Alpha XD14.

It comes with an alarm, that is rechargeable, and is small enough to fit in the lefthand storage pocket. I tend to use it for short stops or when I use the RT for transport to football and it’s ...

Loose Topbox

Hi all,
I’ve been contemplating getting a topbox for my R1200RTLC ever since purchasing it last year. After reading lots of advice I’ve now managed to get a reasonable 2nd one from eBay for £215. It’s an earlier model of the 49litre (with a handle) box and came off a K1300GT. My question is, do the ...

Re: Bike balance for tyre changes

To be honest since my post this morning I’ve now managed to dig out my (car) axle stands and they sit much lower than I remembered, so I feel more comfortable with my propsed technique. An Abba stand would be nice, but it would take up too much space in the garage. :?

On all previous bikes ...

Bike balance for tyre changes

Hi, If anyone has lost a small metal ‘thingy’ the good news is I’ve found it! The bad news is that I found it sticking out of my back tyre!

The next bit of good news is the pile of cash my local motorcyle emporium is about to receive.. :|

My question is, are the RTs okay to leave ...

Battery woes or something else?

Hi,

On my last few ride outs I’ve noticed a couple of events and thought it was a sign of my battery starting to decline.

1. The bike reset itself back to the RT logo instead of the digital speedo I had set. It did this on two separate occasions, after a week of being sat in the garage.
2 ...

*****Update*****

Am I looking for the moon on a stick? Is this a ‘Victor Meldrew’ moment?

I spotted that the wonderful online emporium ‘Nippy Norman’s’ had a discounted Wunderlich elephant tour bag listed for the RTLC. I sent an email to NN asking whether they could confirm the bag was suitable ...

Re: Tyre Change Charge

Where do you go Dr T? I'm also in West Sussex.

Last year, I got a pair of Road 6s fitted to my VFR by Billy’s Motorcycles based in Pulborough. They charged me £400 for a ride in/ride out price. Not sure what the prices look like this year. Higher, no doubt…

I’d like to change the RT ...

Re: Main Stand Refresh

Some may mock, but the multiple washer method worked an absolute treat for me. Photo shows it just after I had removed it and prior to cleaning.

Re: CarPlay screen

Hiya, ive had enough of my Nav 6, so going to try to go the Carpuride option.

What eBay bracket did you get to fit the unit to?
Cheers in advance

The CarPlay unit came with its own cradle. I then used some aluminium box section to give me sufficient stand-off. The stand-off clearance is ...

Re: What did you do today?

Took a leisurely ride out to Hayling Island (Hampshire, UK). Despite learning to swim there, many, many years ago, I don’t really visit the island that often as it fills up with ‘Grockles’ during the summer months.

Goretex cleaning

Anyone else had experience cleaning Goretex textile bike gear and then re-weatherproofing with a specialist spray?

I’ve used Nikwax on walking gear, where you put it in a washing machine and then tumble dry to trigger the waterproofing, but never tried the after wash sprays.

I’ve had my Dainese ...

I think Honda had problems with cam chains through the 80s. I had a 1987 CBR1000F and it was fitted with a mark7 (7 attempts to get it right!) automatic cam chain adjuster.

Wow, that’s a brave move. Not sure I would have the balls to drill holes in my screen. Respect.

How much bigger is the Powerbronze screen compared with the OEM?
