I have found the source of this now. Embrassingly not actually from the rear but from the front. Raising the bike and spinning the front wheel showed it up immediately as front pads rubbing on the discs. Underway it sounds very much as if its from the rear. Backing off the pads ...

Hello All
My new 2013 RT is wonderful in every way except for a hissing or metallic scraping sound from the rear. It is only audible above around 30mph and after the bike is warmed up and with visor open.
