Thanks David. It is exactly that. And as many others are showing it not connected I am guessing the US market fuel vapour valve is favourite. Plan is to seal that with silicone. Right now it's collecting water!

Bought a 2014 RT1200 a few months back.just getting in to service it. Taken right panels off to change air filter and at the front I have a connector, tied into the wire loom above air temperature probe.

Push mirror bottom outer corner until top right hand corner fully out
Remove screw in hole behind mirror
Indicator assembly drops out
Reach through to back of sidelight bulb
Feel for L shaped lever, operate and remove bulb
