Re: Hip and Thigh Pain?
I have the same problem with my hips, the pain or cramp can start when mounting the bike or when putting my feet down at a turn or junction. This pain/ cramp doesn't happen all the time or every time I do find it happens more when I cock my leg over the bike than when I stand on the foot peg to ...

Re: Oil Change ... too hard!
I fully agree with the reply made by jrr626 .I do an annual oil change and this year will be it's 19th oil and filter change ive carried out. So stop stressing yourself if the level is between the low and high on your weekly oil check, you're good to go you do not have to keep the oil level above ...

Re: A sad ending for my 05 R1200rt
Hopefully, you managed to escape any injuries from the fire. The Rt can always be replaced. Thank you for posting this.I have a 06 Rt and remove the fuel tank every 2 years for the brake fluid change.I will be paranoid now, making sure the fuel lines, breather pipe and overfill pipe are all on and ...

Re: what is my bike worth?
I'd keep it if you're reasonably happy with it ,have the fork seals replaced and get it a Mot. Sell it without an mot and you would be lucky to get £2500 . I think these old Rt 1200s can be kept running for a very reasonable cost they are keepers,if you got 2 to 3 k could you buy a better bike?

BMW Top box
Hi has anyone fitted a BMW 28ltr top box onto a Givi rack ? Is there an adaptor plate to do this. The reason I'm asking this is to be able to swap it over from my Rt when I'm using my Honda without buying a Givi box. Cheers

Re: Later version of the RT
Approaching 100k that's great I don't think my 2006 Rt will ever see that ,I'll turn 72 this year and it's taken me 19 years to put 37k on it .Good point about the engine still being used in the Nine T something I'd never thought about. Previous comment about modern day electrics, since the ...

Re: Later version of the RT
I really should have a ride on a camhead ,as you said sharper styling and a crisper engine, also it's still posible to buy a good low mileage example. In the previous comment went from a twin cam to a LC more refined as it was put.I've also never had a ride on this model it might be time to visit ...

Later version of the RT
Have you ever changed your Rt for a newer version and regretted it. I've owned my 2006 Rt from new and touch wood it's been very reliable ,having it for this length of time suggests I must be reasonably happy with it. I have often thought of replacing it with a newer version and still do. But when I ...

Re: Reiten Mottrad no longer selling new BMW bikes
Dealers are all struggling. Bmw keep churning out motorcycles with eye popping prices if it wasn't for PCP how many would be going out the showroom doors, do we need this technology that ultimately comes at a price. I personally don't think so .Good luck to Reiten Mottrad for diversifying it's sink ...

Re: Duration of RT Ownership
What a fine looking Rt. "In your own word's that you posted"
Does just about everything perfect, is so good and reliable, this Rt is probably my favourite bike. Flipping heck I hope you talk yourself out of replacing it with a Rtw. You could end up with a bad case of seller's remorse, you definitely ...

Re: Duration of RT Ownership
I've owned my 2006 Rt from new so that's 18 years with 35000 miles on the clock. I do all the maintenance with oils changed regardless of mileage including a brake fluid change to both wheel and control circuits every 2 years. What do I think of it ? absolutely amazing, as all Rts are thats why we ...
