Re: stuck windscreen

Hi Glen, Just a quick update (perhaps someone else looking in might have an idea on what the issue is)

A new screen lift motor has been fitted by a reputable company and still no action apart from a very small (cm) movement when the recalibration process is attempted. The calibration still does not ...

Re: stuck windscreen

Hi again John,

I'm still in the mire with this windshield problem and it appears that there is a short circuit on the screen lift motor. I am looking to get hold of a replacement either new or nearly new but the problem is I cant get the part number without stripping the front off the bike.

I have ...

Re: Windscreen stuck it up position

Trying to be a bit more helpful, someone I know had a stuck windscreen on a 1150RT, fuse checked and was fine. The problem was found to be the controlling relays. On the 1150RT there are two I'm told one for up and the other down. The relay contacts were cleaned and it fixed the problem. Might be ...

Re: Hello from South Wales uk

Oh, I believe that area is known as "Warm Turn" and I don't know any bobbies in that area. No problem, I'll still keep my eyes open but most of our activities are in the South West of England and annually over in Belgium/France with our Forces Charity (AFB Armed Forces Bikers)

Keep safe
Bye for Now

I'll keep my eyes open when we pass through. Is your mate an Abertillery man born and bred or has he moved into the area?

Re: Hello from South Wales uk

Both our areas have suffered greatly from the loss of the steel and coal jobs. Communities are gone and we are now experiencing the troubles brought on by lack of community cohesion.
Living standards are not the same and it’s good to be able to get out and about on the bike!

Re: stuck windscreen

Thank you for pointing this issue out to me. :?

I can see how a dislodged pivot could prevent the screen from operating but until i take the front off I won't be able to fully understand what the issue may be, mechanical or electrical as I am not too clever with electrical circuitry and I am ...
