Re: Using APP on a rental.
I will be riding around New Zealand for three weeks but can't take my RT from Australia. A rental is the only option.

Using APP on a rental.
I wasn't sure where to ask this so here is a new topic. I have a 2024 RT and I have had no issues using the app. I will go as far as saying it is probably the best nav I have used. My question is, if I hire a non BMW rental bike how do I get the app to record my rides ? Many thanks and safe riding ...

Re: Wider pillion footpegs
Here is a follow up. I originally requested these footpegs from my dealer here in Australia almost two months ago. I asked them yesterday if they had any idea when they might turn up and the response was an apologetic "no idea". In the meantime I found a company in Germany who could supply them. So ...

Re: Wider pillion footpegs
I know this is an old post but I thought I would post here as it seems the most relevant. I have a R1250RT purchased new 8 months ago. I was in the dealer the other day and had a look over the R1300RT with the Pillion pack . ( I'm sure it's not called that but you all know what I mean ). Part of the ...

Re: Why the BMW RT
Hi OWL. I HAVE heard riders say that but after a 45 min ride I would expect them to be warm at least ?? Am I just impatient ? How long does it take for your seat to get warm ? Tnx.

Re: Why the BMW RT
An update !! Weather got cooler here in OZ so we tested the heated seats. Nothing. The dealer checked them and ended up replacing a module. They heat now but the heat is so low, even at max setting, that I wouldn't bother with them. Might be another visit to the dealer. Otherwise the bike is great ...

Re: iPhone BMW Connected Ride automation instructions
Hi RaP. I have it working correctly I think. So when I restart the bike do I need to do anything ? Should it just connect everything automatically ? I played with it in my garage and I need to unlock my iPhone, tap the two shortcuts and it seems to start fine. It doesn't ask me to connect to the ...

Re: Drive shaft check
I was curious about the cost to replace the the entire shaft. The BMW dealer where I bought the bike tells me it is only AUD230 . Sounds cheap to me. Has anyone else in any other country investigated the cost ?

Re: Undo the auto lock for Gas Cap
I wonder if the magnetic ring theory is more than just a theory. I have re installed the same tank ring so I will see what happens. Fingers crossed that it WAS just a dodgy cap. I'll keep you posted.

Re: Undo the auto lock for Gas Cap
I have had my question answered. My BMW dealer kindly cut off the small tab. I can use it like a normal fuel cap although it won't lock. Good enough until they let me know that a replacement fuel cap can be fitted. It means I can still use my tank bag. Hope this helps.

Re: Undo the auto lock for Gas Cap
I watched a video (which I can't find now) where a guy showed a dismantled cap/surround. He was able to remove the small ball and sliding part (solenoid ??) that meant the cap could be closed and secured so there was no leak of fuel or vapours, but is no longer lockable. My question is this. The cap ...
