I had a look and found that there was an old cable attached to that plug. I think the previous owner had a Garmin. this lead had only 2 wires. ( the Aoocci has 3) so I think I have worked out that there is a positive (red) negative (black) and the yellow one is the signal wire that turn the thing on...

hi thanks for getting back to me, can I just confirm that that the plug he is taking about is turned on and off by the ignition ?
