Have a look on The BMW Club forum and select the "Sections" tab. There may be one near you with some contact details or they might have a monthly meet to pop along to.

You can go on their website and ask as a free guest. One of the members up north holds all the specialist tools. A deposit is required

Re: BMW R1200RT Cam alignment tools
I thought the right to repair law covered all this and that they had to supply the equipment to service bikes/cars by law
Re: BMW R1200RT Cam alignment tools
I’m not sure, it’ll be interesting to see what bmw uk say, they wanted the dealer name and order no which after speaking with the dealer in question I gave them. I made it clear said dealer has done everything they can to help and I’ve purchased servicing items from them with no issues.sakm wrote: Thu Oct 05, 2023 7:00 pm I thought the right to repair law covered all this and that they had to supply the equipment to service bikes/cars by law

Looking into this law. Yes you have the right to repair yourself under EU law but a manufacturer does not have to surply/sell the tools to do it. This part does not come under the law.sakm wrote: Thu Oct 05, 2023 7:00 pm I thought the right to repair law covered all this and that they had to supply the equipment to service bikes/cars by law
Found this in a case against Rolls Royce. Let's call the chap Joe Blogs. He took the case to the EU courts. RR would not sell a specific tool to help with a serviceable part. The ruling was RR was not breaking the right to repair the law. The laws do not include any tools to fix/service or mend a part.
