Re: August Meet
The Great Central Railway at Loughborough would have been a 284 miles round trip.
The National Motorcycle Museum would have been a 336 miles round trip.
As Iain didn't make it, the railway would have been halfway, not the museum.

Re: August Meet
Fareham to the museum is 142 miles (2.5 hours), same as it would have been for me to Loughborough.
The museum would have been over 3 hours each way for me.

Re: August Meet
Sorry I missed this topic.
If you do decide to go there one day, I would definitely recommend the Great Central Railway. However, the station at Quorn (not Loughborough) would probably a better location. Unless there’s an event on, they used to let bikes park in the service yard where you always have sight of them from the platforms. There’s also a nice (but expensive) pub over the road. At the Loughborough station you have to park on the road and it’s a pretty rough part of town.
Hope that’s useful for the future.
