My 2021 R1250 RT with 60,000 kms has developed a relatively high frequency vibration which mainly felt on the pegs though can also be felt on the handle bars.
Bike has new tyres and also the Cadan shaft has just be changed by BMW. Who also state that the vibration is normal for a RT.
I do not agree with them as the bike has been very smooth up to a month or so ago. Warranty expires at the end of December and the bike is going back in for its 60,000 service mid Dec plus to check out the vibration issue again.
Front wheel bearings are still the original so this may be a cause?
Any ideas?
Many thanks
Vibration coming through on foot pegs.

Re: Vibration coming through on foot pegs.
I had this on a 1250GS, straight after new tyres (Road 6s). They took it back in and rebalanced the front wheel. It was better, but not cured until my next set of tyres. I concluded some tyres aren't perfectly round!
Re: Vibration coming through on foot pegs.
Unfortunately the vibrations were there before new tyres fitted which are road 6 as well. Thanks for the comment. Will see what happens.

I’d tell the dealer to contact bmw so they know there’s an ongoing problem after the shaft was replaced, tell them you’re leaving it with them until it’s fixed.cyclone7 wrote: Fri Nov 22, 2024 11:26 pm Unfortunately the vibrations were there before new tyres fitted which are road 6 as well. I feel vibration of some kind on all the bikes I’ve owned over the years, I must b very susceptible to it.
Re: Vibration coming through on foot pegs.
Good thought, unfortunately can only get the bike in on 17 December, short of mechanics. Time will tell.
Re: Vibration coming through on foot pegs.
The saga continues!,
The bike went in for its 70,000 km service yesterday, I complained again about the vibration as it is getting worse. When I collected the bike I was advised that BMW head office had requested that the Woodruff key be checked. This no small job!!!
Has anyone heard of this as an issue ?
I will potentially be having the great debate as my option is the cost should covered by warranty. Will cross that bridge when I come to it.
Any comments appreciated,
Cheers
Mike
