Greetings from Montana

Post by montanamax »

I bought my 2007 RT a few months back and have been sorting out various problems since then. It seemed like a terrific deal ($2750), a bike that look good with 38K miles. I knew it had a few problems but didn't realize the extent of them until I've had it for a while. A missing cable to the front seat heating element, a non functioning left heater grip were straightforward problems to fix. But a bigger issue was damage to the front fairing that that I came to realize was the result of the bike going down, damaging a number of components (mirror, dash cover and the fairing bracket) all of which I am replacing. The bike runs great but now I'm doing the maintenance one would do at 36K miles as winter riding out here isn't advisable (for one thing I couldn't even begin to get up and down our ice covered driveway).

This bike joins my 91 R100GS for now which I'm likely to sell as I can't justify two bikes given the time I have for riding. But I'm looking forward to some great trips down the Montana Autobahn this summer.
