Got any questions about the BMW's R1200RT/R1250RT's onboard audio, Bluetooth or the Electrical system?

09 RT - mystery connector

Post by OddBod »

Hi all.

2009 R1200RT

I'm trying to work out what this mystery connector is for. It is zip tied to the frame under the right fairing, near where the CD player would have been fitted, had one been specified.

The connector has two wires which appear to be yellow/pink and blue/green.
Anyone got an idea what this connector is intended for?

I'm trying to locate the optional extras socket which, according to the Haynes manual, should have 3 wires: red/white, blue/green, and brown.
Any suggestions where this might be hiding?

Thanks in advance

This video shows where the optional extras socket is on a Camhead, it's likely to be the same on a Hexhead.

Thanks very much for that video, David.
It's dark here in the UK now, but I'll see if I can track this connector down tomorrow.

Any idea what my mystery connector is?
