Side roundel running lights / indicators
Anyone fitted the side panel logo roundel running lights / indicators?
If so, how did you get one removing and modifying the BMW logo roundel and fitting the lights?
Do they work well, and where did you source the lights?

Re: Side roundel running lights / indicators
My bike has them, but they were already fitted when I bought it.
I can say that they work well. Mine show a white light all the time I'm riding, and turn to flashing orange with the indicators. The offside one also stays on for 30 seconds when I park. Presumably the previous owner needed illumination to exit his garage at night.

I’m looking at them at the moment.
Motorworks and Sportouring do them around the same price bracket, approx £120, with a possibility of Amazon and Aliexpress cheaper.

Re: Side roundel running lights / indicators
I bought a set from motorworks
Fitting is fairly easy if you follow the instructions! I never
I didn't like the idea of drilling holes in the side panel behind the emblem for the wiring so I ended up removing all the silver trim and feeding the wiring through there and through a hole already in the fairing.
It's was a lot of work and fiddly but I am happy with the result

Re: Side roundel running lights / indicators
It's probably wired to the wiring that goes to the auxiliary socket on the right side of the bikeowl wrote: Mon May 12, 2025 6:44 pm The offside one also stays on for 30 seconds when I park. Presumably the previous owner needed illumination to exit his garage at night.

@Stu
Do you by any chance still have the instructions or have a link to it?
I wanted to have a look at what is involved in wiring them before I commit.
Thank you

But to connect them up they are simply 3 wires
Permanent live
Earth
Indicators
The wiring is the easy part its the taking the badge off and stuff thats the hardest bit but taking your time with a bit of patience is all is needed
Re: Side roundel running lights / indicators
Hi @Stu
I am not worried about the Emblem, I did it already twice on K1600s. But the wiring was much easier with the K1600, and I had a service manual for that.
I want to know which wires I have to cut into on the RT and where to find them. And no service manual
Thanks in advance.
