I met 2 ex RAF Kinloss colleagues that I hadn't seen in 35 - 40 years, chatting to them was like we had seen each other last week.BoB21 wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 4:45 pm Should have said as I was also there. Try to go every year. Surprised didn't have stunt arena and seemed quieter than normal.

Recognising bike's fine, it's those phopofits they show on Crimewatch that worry me. They're getting rather good nowadays.

Re: What did you do today?
I get a phone call from my mum last week.
Dad has fallen over trying to clear behind his shed, he is 88 years old and not in great health.
So mum asked if i could pop over and clear it for them as dad said it was not that much to clear.
I said yes i will be over in about 90 mins as i needed to sort tools i needed and its a 40 mile drive.
Well when i got there i went to have a look at what i have let myself in for.
My first thought was OMFG that a bit more than the not much mum said.
So i said to myself ok, let get going as this is going to take me a couple of days day.
10,000,000 thorn stabs and scratches later i had cleared it about 6 foot away from the shed.
The first photo is of what i first saw when i walked around the back of the shed.
The second photo is how i left it at the end of today.
what made it worth it was mum and dad were so happy with how much i cleared away.
It did take me a couple of days to do in total.
The shed does need some repairs which i have said i would do for them.
And im going to put up a 4ft fench to help keep it clear. And loads of weed killer.

I cleared my neighbours very overgrown back garden earlier this year when they moved out of their rented accommodation on very short notice, their new born baby having major ongoing problems that necessitated their moving much closer to the hospital.
It took me 18 hours over an 3 day period, and I was absolutely shattered for days afterwards. The real pain is that the new renters apparently have no intention of keeping the garden clear so I guess it’ll return to its former state within a couple of years.

Re: What did you do today?
Home tomorrow after a four 4 day bimble around the Dolomites. Heading home tomorrow over 4 days. Mid 30s temperatures have been a bit much.
The popular passes (Sella, Pordoi and Gardena etc) were very busy with motorbikes , cars and tons of cyclists but the others were relatively quiet.

Re: What did you do today?
First IAM session today with a local observer who was both knowledgeable and thorough. I really enjoyed it. Clearly I've got work to do to get to the point of being ready for assessment and much to learn on the way.
I'm so glad I decided to enrol.

Re: What did you do today?
Went over the Stelvio Pass today, I absolutely fecking hated it. Would never do it again. The hairpin bends going up were horrendous, pick a line and get halfway round to be met with a line of bikes/ cars on the wrong side of the road.

Had a potter around mid Wales, down to Devils Bridge and back through the Elan Valley. The reservoirs are very low or drained for maintenance.
My cousin's 2012 GS knackered its cardan shaft in a country lane just before Welshpool

Lol not that I'm stalking you but also did 400 plus miles 12 hours ride from fareham wye valley, Monmouth Abergavenny, Brecon, devil's staircase, Nant y car phone box, (first time on that road)Tregaron, Llandovery,Brecon, Abergavenny, Chepstow. Mainly tried to keep off main roads. Lovely and cooler at 18 degrees Tregaron area but up to 28 degrees in England on way home.Glenn wrote: Sat Jun 28, 2025 8:30 pm Had a potter around mid Wales, down to Devils Bridge and back through the Elan Valley.
