My 1st BMW

Post by Trooper »

I am an 80 YEAR OLD Retired motor cop.. 150.000 miles on police motors. 3 Kawasaki 's & 2 Harley's. Never had the opportunity to ride a BMW. I FINALLY got one... YES ! ... I LOVE IT !!! I WAS A VERY GOOD RIDER, AND LOVED TO COMPETE IN POLICE RODEOS... my balance is now bad. But I'm getting new knees soon. I bought a 2009 R 1200RT 27000 miles. Runs great except it has a continuous flashing BRAKE FAILURE light. Is this a major problem or an indicator of a need to change the DOT 4 FLUID ?

Welcome to our site.
Flashing ABS lamp is usual for 2006 to 210 models. The Unit is not reliable. It means your ABS is not working, but the brakes are still up to par. My '07 hasn't had ABS working for over 7 years. You can either stick a bit of tape over the lamp or did deep into your wallet and buy a new part
Trust me I am a retired Doctor and lecturer at Oxford University of Structural and Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
May the shaft be with you
