Connection question 1250, iPhone, Cardo headset
Equipment: '21 R1250RT, iPhone 14 Pro Max, Cardo Freecom Headset. I've liked all about the R1250RT except for the nav app connectivity issues. I'm an iPhone user. Had trouble getting the iPhone to work with the bike and it's also too large for the compartment. Last year I bought a used Google Pixel 5 to have a dedicated bike phone. It worked somewhat. This summer the Map Mode is currently not working with the Google phone. I've now added a powered quad lock mount for my iPhone to the bike. Question... should I connect the iPhone to the TFT or to the headset? Thanks!

Re: Connection question 1250, iPhone, Cardo headset
I’m not experienced enough with it to offer help. I guess other than to offer what I have learned from others trying to help me. About two week ago I was back and forth with Cardo Service folks. And since then a couple different six hour rides. I still haven’t had it work correctly but better.
Under the “New Member Introduction” forum, you will see a bit of my discussion on Reno, NV Guy thread regarding pairing the Cardo to your phone while on the RT (probably different if you are on a Yamaha or something).
Since then, I have also seen a video that confirms that you must have your IPhone Bluetooth paired with the TFT but also have your iPhone WiFi paired with the TFT for navigation.Yes your TFT is a WiFi transmitter, but with a very weak signal. What apparently can and often does happen is that another WiFi signal that is stronger than that of your TFT, steps on your connection. Example you drive by a hotel, or a school, or someone’s house, or a car where someone has their phone broadcasting as a hotspot and wouldn’t you know, your connection goes wonky.
To help counter that, within your iPhone settings icon, go to WiFi and be sure that the ‘ask to join networks’ is turned off, and that the ’auto-join hotspot’ is set to Never; at least when you are on your ride! In theory that is supposed to help with not dropping off the connection quite as often.

Just gimme just a second here … I am configuring it to “launch mode”!
