The Wera Bit-assortiment, Tool-Check PLUS, exactly the one I was going to post. Good choice
But then again I’m a tool-aholic so it’s just a nice bit of kit!

Being new to BMW and finding out my limited Torx set was not enough, I found this neat little set from Klein Tools. 29.00 USD.

I have picked up several at yard sales for $1-$5. They are extremely useful, especially for Torx bits.

Re: Micro mini 1/4" ratchet to carry on the bike
I'd like it very much if there was some sort of standardization in the nut/bolt arena. Got me a BMW now that has loads of Torx fasteners whereas my Japanese bikes use metric and my Ford has metric and SAE and then some bolts that are neither, (bastards!). Ever seen an oblong bolt? I have, it was forged in Hades I think. Anyway, how about one type. Is Torx superior vs. others? Who knows. All I know is I have to buy multiples of the same size.
Lucky for me, I have a tool fetish.

One of these Dewalt mini sets lives in the bottom of my panniers. It's not meant to do everything, but at the side of the road it's got enough in it to tighten something that's come loose and maybe make a problem just an inconvenience rather than ruining my day. The whole thing measure about 4x3x2 inches.

Like Capt Sisko, I carry the previous version. Useful for small jobs.
