Hi all,
Just wanting to say hi. I'm the new owner of a 2024 R1250RT that I just had delivered last week. It's used and came from NH but it's like new with only 1500 miles on it. I'm a dedicated long-distance rider and had been riding a 2020 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Limited. The Road Glide is actually an amazing long distance tourer but at my age, 68, I'm finding that I'm just having more and more trouble keeping it upright. At 975 lbs. it's just getting to be too heavy for me to handle at low speeds. So I decided to switch to a R1250RT which is almost 200 lbs. lighter and it's really feels lighter too!
It joins my other two bikes, a 2013 BMW K1600GTL and a 2022 Harley-Davidson Pan America Special.
I bought my first bike, a new leftover 1978 Yamaha XS400 in 1979 and have never been without a motorcycle since. I've owned just about every brand out there, Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki, Moto Guzzi, Ducati, HD, and BMW and have never had a bike I didn't like. (Must be something wrong with me!)
I'll get some photos taken when I get a chance but until then, I'll be browsing the site to come up to speed on the bike.
