Black Box Embeded Sat Nav Mount Review

As per my other post viewtopic.php?t=9381 I have also been testing this new bracket for the BMW R1200RT and R1250RT

This is a prototype so don't be put off by any marks on it as the finished product is yet to be finalised.

This mount is designed to clip in to the nav prep and screw in to the mounts for the cowl on the sat nav surround.

The one I have received comes with a dumb box that the mount screws on to and the guys at Black Box Embedded are looking at making a box that will take power from the nav prep and charge your device via USB the same as the WunderLINQ box does.

the kit comes with all new hardware which is a nice touch and some screws for mounting.

It has mounting holes which are the AMPS standard which is used across the board on most devices there is also an extra two holes which I am not sure if they are a different standard uses elsewhere but if I find out what they are I will update this post.

I have been using this for a few months now and its been rock solid I haven't yet been able to get hold of a large screen tablet just yet as I want to test it with some decent weight on it but I am more than confident that its up to the job.

It comes with two supplied spacers to keep the bracket away from the fairing and longer bolts I also use a cockpit back and this still all worked together.

I use a Quadlock mount on this for a mobile phone with no issues whatsoever
