LS2 FF901 Advent X Gloss carbon with cardo coms
I bought this helmet just over five weeks ago. RRP £499, but with a gift card and a bit of bartering i paid £320 in the end. My nick name used to be Del boy
For a carbon helmet it is heavy but the weight is spread all over. Unlike my Bell flip up where i found the front felt realy heavy.
For the first 1000 miles the neck roll felt hard, digging into my thick neck but after 3 weeks this has sofened up. This is where the battery for the comms is fitted. The cheek pads gave me a parrot cheeks but again these are fitting better now.
I wanted a open face helmet but a full face for longer, faster trips This seems to forfill both needs.
The flip over chin piece works easy, lifting the visor open at the samet ime. Vents to the mouth, head top help keep me cool. Plus two exhaust vents. The Scorpion version doesnt have these. This makes the helmet hotter in the summer.
Ive ridden up to the speed limit and found that with the chin piece open, no buffering was felt. With it closed it was surprisingly quite. I dont wear plugs. No rain gets between the helmet and visor.
The helmet comes with a dark and clear main visor one. A dark drop down visor. A 120 max pinlock and with cardo comms fitted. This comes with the larger JBL speakers. The coms are more or less the same as my old Cardo Freecom 4X but with a smaller control unit. Also included is a helmet bag and a rucksack that you can carry the helmet in. The rucksack i am now using it as a topbox liner.
At the RRP it would have been the most exspencive ive ever bought but at £320 i think ive got a bargain. Overall i like the helmet and find that now broke in, to be one of the most comfortable helmet ive owned.
A word of warning. If you fancy this helmet for yourself, try it first as some say you need to size up. But remember it is a tight fit before breaking in. If you have an oval head shape it will suit but if you have a long head i would look at the other makes.
