I have a R1250RT, previous owner put the battery in backwards and the positive connection has been bent too many times.
It has snapped off the cable end now, so originally I was thinking of getting some crimp on ring terminals and just putting a new end on the cable. However this means the cable will probably be about another inch shorter after repair and those cables are already really short to begin with.
So I was thinking I could just run a cable to where ever they come from and have the new cable about 6 inches longer. That would certainly make it easier to pull the battery every winter. (My storage unit has no power or I'd just run a battery tender)
Is that doable do you think? I'm not sure where that positive wire runs to up under the bike and how easy it would be to get in there and just put a fresh longer cable in there...
Has anyone run into this issue before?
