Multi function wheel/wonder wheel issues

Post by BCMC »

l recently purchased a 17 R1200RT, all stock 6K miles, the only mod has been the Ilium bar back/risers. The bike is in perfect condition but l’m having issues with the multi function wheel.

I don’t have any problems scrolling up or down but clicking right to access the sub menu. It scrolles to time no problem but no matter how many times
I press right it will not bring up the time format for a time change.

I’ve removed the bar backs and the bars are in the stock position, no change.

This is my second 17 RT which l purchased new and l’m not doing anything different but getting poor results.

Could someone direct me from experience on a fix before l start throwing new parts at it? Thanks, Newbie to the forum.

It’s hit and miss, but never on the time adjustment.
I thought the last owner may have created a partial wire disconnect installing the bar backs, but I tried moving the wires while pressing right without any effect

Also, the RT has always been inside and low miles, doesn’t make sense it would be defective already. Is the a complete reset procedure other than battery disconnect?

My next question was are you in the settings to actually change the time? its in the vehicle settings menu

But with it being hit and miss I suspect you may need a new wonderwheel
