After 27 years of hard work, my Dewalt router packed up on the last cut. It's a non-brushless type. I've changed the brushes 4 times over its life. With pops, bangs, and lots of sparks, it stopped working. I only had to round the last corner. Inside it is a mess. Totally burned out. It has served well making projects for my kids and now grandchildren.
So, brethren, we are sadly gathered here to send the faithful router to the great recycling bin in the sky. You did yourself proud over the years, and you will be sadly missed in the garage.
A new 20V battery Dewalt brushless router has been ordered. I now have a full set of woodworking tools from Dewalt.
The wife only allowed me to pay for a new one, as the nest of tables is for my son as a Christmas gift.

Thank you. I lowered the router, saying some kind words and thanking it for the journey we had been on.
