Anyone with a late 1250RT still have the rattle at idle when hot ?.

I’ve been googling again after thinking of test riding a 1300RT and found a fair few engines are even more rattly than the 1250 .

I’m still toying with a very late model 1250RT if I can carry on riding but was just wondering if anyone has a late model that doesn’t have the left side rattle at idle when the motors warm ?.

My 2020 R1250RT has done 32,700 miles and does not rattle, hot or cold.

Am I right in thinking that the cam chain tensioner might need replacing on the left?

Wasn't they upgraded at some point

Sounds good, the rattle is at idle from the left pot only when the motor is hot.

Yes mate they were, left side tensioner, it helped mine a bit but it’s still rattly when hot at idle.

What oil are you using?

Could be too thin when hot?

I’ve used 3 brands, BMW , Castrol and now Smith & Allen, all fully synthetic and 5/40 as specified by bmw.
Not sure if there’s a 5/50 or 5/60 fully synthetic out there
