Issues after dead battery

Post by gwcrim »

The bike: 2014 RT.

The issue: ABS, ASC, battery, red triangle lights are lit. Turn signals, fuel gauge, and sat/nat inoperative.

The story: Left a USB/volt meter in the canbus socket for a month and when I went to start it, it was completely dead. I tried to charge the battery with a canbus Optimate but the lights and dash flashed and the exhaust valve and some other solenoid just click and buzz. So I put a 2 amp charger directly to the battery. It took a charge and started the bike. When I rode it, the above issues became apparent. I thought maybe the 7 year old battery was N/G and replaced it with a Yuasa. The bike started and rides fine but still the above issues. So I did a hard reset. Started the bike and still the above issues.

WTF is going on?

You may need to read the error codes and see if there is anything registered in the ecu

It may also require a reset with a diagnostic tool
