I had my R1250RT serviced this past week. The service writer at the dealership pointed out to me that the Wunderlich front guard I have on it blocks access to a bolt that holds the cylinder head cover on. Not problematic for a 6,000-mile service, but for the 12,000-mile service and the 24,000-mile service (every other service interval) they would have to remove that cover to adjust the valves. In doing so, to remove the cover, they need to remove and then reinstall the Wunderlich crash bars, so plan for extra money for that labor.

The service writer indicated that he has the exact same RT as I do, and he purposefully installed Illum Works front protection as it does not block access to that bolt head. Just Food for Thought; something that you might consider!
Just gimme just a second here … I am configuring it to “launch mode”! :o
