Hi there, l’m considering trying an Akrapovic slip on muffler on my 17 RT and was hoping to get some feedback from folks that are using one.
Is there actually a performance increase other than exhaust note?
Is there a drone at cruising speeds?
Is the juice worth the squeeze? Thanks

Re: Akrapovic slip on for 2017RT
I've had one on my 2016 and 2018 bikes. Gives a nicer exhaust note, but no noticeable improvement in performance. At speed, with earplugs in, I couldn't detect any difference. Looks nice, but is expensive bling!

Re: Akrapovic slip on for 2017RT
According to official figures it's supposed to be around 7bhp increase. I can't confirm any power difference as I never rode mine with the akrapovic in standard form.
I have a set of decat pipes with the akrapovic and a dna air filter then had it remapped and all that together makes a huge difference.
If you want more power then I recommend a remap over anything as more can be squeezed out in stock form and it give more low down torque which is what you want.
Mine is a totally different bike now
As is the mpg
As for sound it's just a little bit louder than stock and just enough to make it sound good without a droan at constant speeds
