Hello from Wales

Post by Mort »

Just bought a ‘22 Triple Black, traded my F800GS (lovely bike but couldn’t handle the wind noise despite trying different screens)
I thought the electric RT screen would be the answer, so I was a bit disappointed riding back from the dealers as I found the OEM more noisy than I was expecting, unless I had it fully up and ducked my head down a bit. So I’ve ordered a Ztec Vscreen to see if that helps. Otherwise, love the bike, certainly gets a wiggle on when you give it the beans….

Welcome, and another 1250RT owner here with a Ztec Vscreen (the shorter one of the two they make) and they are really good. Mine has seen me through a couple of SS1000 events (that's 1,000 miles in under 24hrs) and numerous other long distance days. I find that by using the electric screen I can get a really comfortable, looking over the top but sitting in a bubble of still(ish) air quite easy to obtain. In the rain they can be a little too good and you sometimes have to drop the screen a little to keep you visor clear, but you're still otherwise well protected. One other comment, compared to my previous screen, a Wunderlich Marathon, the clarity of the perspex or whatever it's made from is noticeably better.

The screen sounds promising, makes me hopeful it will be a real improvement. It was delivered today so I might get a chance to try it out next week if it’s dry enough. I’ve held it against the OEM and it’s a little bit taller. Looks great quality.
