Hello Guys,
Have just bought these for my 2020 R1250RT.
For the top engine bolt .. I have tried inserting from the left hand side (as you are on the bike) and the cylinder head casing doesn't allow a perpendicular feed into the engine mount hole so cannot be inserted.
Haven't tried yet on the RH side as I haven't fully removed the existing engine bolt.
Does it feed in fine from the RHS and not get fouled on the cylinder head ?
Also some of the nuts are Nylock ones .. can Loctite be used with this kit .. Red or Blue?
Thanks in advance.

Just out of curiosity, what is your beef with Nylock? These are commonly used fasteners throughout the aerospace industry, providing excellent vibration resistance.

No beef with Nylock at all.
Just wondering if Loctite is needed with this kind of nut.

No Loctite necessary with Nyloc. Loctite and Nyloc serve the same purpose (for the most part): to prevent a fastener backing off due to vibration. Depending on the variety used, Loctite will generally provide more security than Nyloc. There are versions of Loctite that are considered "permanent." Blue is the standard, which will provide a bit better security than Nyloc--the manufacturer says you can still remove fasteners with hand tools. Red is generally for larger fasteners and may require the application of heat to remove.
The primary advantage of Nyloc is ease of installation. Further, you can remove and reuse a Nyloc fastener without the hassle of cleaning and reapplying a threadlocking product.

Hi,
Not sure if this will help, but I recently purchased and installed HEED front crash bars on my 2010 1200RT. It sounds like your installation is similar to what I experienced. I initially tried installing them by myself and ran into the same issue, you can’t push the bolt through because nothing lines up. I also started on the right-hand side with the plastics removed.
Later, a friend came by, and it turned out to be a much easier job with two people.
To help align everything, we used tie-down straps on both sides of the bike, attaching them to the forks near the engine mount. One person sat on the bike and pushed the bolt through while the other pulled on the straps. At times, both wheels were on the ground, and at other times, the bike was on the center stand. Applying pressure to the forks this way helped everything line up perfectly, and the bolt went in smoothly.
Hopefully, that helps a bit.
Good luck!!

Thanks for the info.
I had to purchase a new engine mount bolt as I'd damaged the threads.
Once I did the install from the right hand side of the bike..it worked.
Strange how one side seems misaligned to the other.
Thanks for getting back to me though.
