I had that problem after I had my gall bladder removed.

Rest up and you will be back riding soon.

You’re a bloke Martin, you’re meant to be useless at such things!

Hope you’ll soon recover from your medical procedures and get back on the bike and the beach before the summer is over… or should the be starts?

My 1995 GT 5.0 was inspected yesterday by two gentlemen and it is now officially classed as a historic vehicle.

This brings certain benefits:
- motor vehicle inspection now every four years instead of annually
- insurance about 50,- a year instead of 500,-
- no more annual road tax

Well I’m still thinking of selling the RT. In my head I wanted to try a 1300 just to see what they are like but I always wanted to get hold of a late 1250 with low miles in mint condition as I do much prefer the headlights and fairing but I still suffer neck and shoulder pain even after just 15 minutes but that’s more me than the RT and the fact things have been rubbish for a while with health and family stuff I’ve put on the little weight I managed to loose plus probably a bit more  .

The wife hasn’t lost any weight either as far as I can tell and what with her new jacket she bought last year plus a near 1” thick back protector I just don’t have the room on the RT as we did 3 yrs ago and I feel rather shoved up on the seat which leads for a cramped feeling and crushed bits after a short time.

With all that in mind I’m considering selling it and possibly picking up something just for me to scoot around the lanes now and again.
As a second bike if I keep the RT I fancy something old or build something, I’m seeing an old classic scramble type chassis but with a big thumper motor in it…. Or something I’ve always fancied is a Yam XT550 in white but they are rare and often crap condition or expensive.
The other bike I was just looking at Is the triumph scrambler 400  , at 6 ft I might look silly on it but it looks like fun and easy to live with.

I just dunno at this point  I’m still under the weather 6 days on after the op so maybe I’ll feel more positive in a few weeks. I’ve been riding bikes since I was 6 yrs old so no bike in the shed would be odd unless I do my car bucket list instead which would be either a mk11 jag, Daimler V8, an old Rolls or an old American V8  .

This is my little project 49 year old CB550/4 F2. It's had a top end rebuild over the past few months, hopefully back on the road shortly.

Panman40 wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2026 6:31 am So that was the hernia done on Monday up under general anaesthetic, they let me home in the evening ( once I could pee) as they didn’t need to turn off my defibrillator, I was glad not to have to stay a night as they told me.
4 days on and plenty of painkillers and it’s still uncomfortable and now my balls are purple and swollen to  . Yesterday I took my first 💩 and it was excruciating!, it’s a downside to anaesthetic that’s for sure  .

Won’t be driving for a while and unlikely to be using the RT for a while.

After the wife spending the day in hospital with me on the Monday she gets a call Tuesday to say that her uncles neighbor found him lying on the bathroom floor in his bungalow and it appears he was there 24 plus hours…. So back in hospital the wife goes as she’s next of kin. The ambulance crew take him straight in and it appears he’s broken his femur, yesterday they already have him walking and once his bungalow has been made safer he will be returning home. He’s 90, lives on his own and doesn’t like company or visitors and can barely talk from a stroke he had years ago.
The wife bless her is going into his bungalow this morning to give it a good clean and change the bedding etc, I feel useless as I can’t help as I’m not allowed to lift anything .

Hopefully things improve going forward :? o
Our family seems to go though states of something happening to them. Then it's quiet for 6 months.
At least we can call you Donkey Bo***cks now :o
Good luck and hope for a fast recovery

Managed some activities:
- fitted footpeg lowering kit
- fitted tank lock ring for SW Motech bag
- fitted the new Tomtom Rider 550 - that will not be the final position

Thank you, that’s how it was when I was growing up on the Island… beautiful and unspoilt. 👍👍
