Managed to get out for an hour today, the new ( used) boots are a bit disappointing, a little tight around the ankles but very hard to change gear getting them to bend to get my toes under and over the lever, do these Daytona boots loosen up at all ?, also no real feel for the lever either and noticed how much heavier they are compared to my ancient RST boots.
They’re a bit clumpy to start with Martin, but a seriously quality boot which will become more flexible with use. After 20-odd years they’ll be as comfy as your carpet slippers!

Thanks Steve, after 20 odd years I don’t think I’ll be needing boots

. I’ll slap something different on the parts that need softening up, I don’t think they have been used much.

Took the F650GS Twin for an MOT this afternoon, it failed for a binding front brake.

Yesterday it was time to let Triumph go - sold it to the dealer I bought it from two years ago.
Lovely bike but I think I want another older and simpler bike. Perhaps an R1100GS or R1150GS from Germany.

Yesterday i replaced the rear tyre on my Varadero. I also removed the rear shock.
I got the haynes manual out and it told me to remove the fuel tank, rear ABS unit and a couple of other items.
I thought bugger that. I ended up making a bent 17mm & 14mm spanners so i could get to the top mount without have to take half the bike apart. I'm fitting a Hyperpro spring and 40mm lowering links. I'm trying to see if lowering the bike helps with the top heavy weight before i do sell it and get a Versys 1000. Its only cost £150 for the parts so i thought it was worth a try before spending ££££ on a lighter bike.

What i did yesterday. I don't ride out on weekends as those working people seem to be on the road for some unknown reason.
I did what I like to do now and then. Set off with no destination in mind. The idea was only to use B roads. My first stop was at Winchester for a cuppa and a Bacon roll. I set off again along loads of twisties with 40 to 60mph limits passing through little villages that I never known before. Somehow I ended up in Poole Harbour. This time I needed a good hot meal. Luckily I found a Pub on the quay selling homemade meals. After a belly full of steak pie dinner I set off again. This time as time was getting late I decided it was the A27 all the way home. The Southampton section was a right pain. Speed restrictions are down to 40 mph for no reason at all. By the time I hit Chichester, It was again on B roads home.
Really nice day out. Next time i think it will be eastward.

Spent 7 hours today walking around the NEC at the Practical Classic Car and Restoration Show, I've walked around 6 miles in there.

Today i thought it was time to tidy up the workshop.
I started at just before 7am and by midday it was in a bigger mess.
I did tidy it up, but then started going though what i had in boxes on the shelves.
3x1m shelves cleared, but big pile of rubbish now on the floor.
This is going to take longer than i thought.

I’ve been busy appeasing my OCD by labelling the new tool cabinet!

Nope, it's "Vise Grips". You clamp things in a vise. Some folks belong in a cell due their "vice".
