Joys of being a self employed machine driver.I take as much time as I like off.Every summer it's the whole of August (currently typing from France)And numerous long weekends in-between, plus 2 weeks Christmas/new year.Although currently not working due to injuries(3 years and counting)the government are making it harder and harder for the self employed, if I ever go back it will be a different world i left.

Had to bail out of the campsite I'd booked and payed for in Spain(for 6 nights)after 2 nights and into a hotel 80 miles away.
The campsite was like a council estate(and I live on 1 in Basildon)on steroids, with cream and a cherry on top.It was without doubt the worst campsite I've ever been on(and I have been on a lot)
The final straw was a dog pissing up me shelter and the fuckin owner shrugging her fuckin shoulders. She didn't appreciate getting both barrels.

Took the photo just before bugout(to much M.A.S.H

)
All these lazy bastards fast asleep
Sorry bout the rant gents, now sat waiting for me dinner in a far more subtle environment
What's the name of the site before someone else books there?

Yesterday, after looking for the TV remote for 4 hours, i gave up. This morning, Mum called me asking for help with her TV remote. She said she had changed the batteries, and it is still not working.
Somehow i took my remote in my shorts, and it had fallen out of the side of her chair.
Both remotes found, and a plus i have new batteries in mine
Did the same with my front door keys before.
I must be getting old

That's funny, I was telling my wife yesterday we need a rewind button for our brain. I was hunting for a part for my bike in my garage for what seemed like hours, eventually it was exactly where I left it.

I’ve just had an epiphany moment, realising that my tool chest is bulging with crappy old tools that I’ve hung onto for ages … worn out, pitted, rusty seized pieces of crap that I should have chucked years ago.
Well it’s done, I now have the slimmed down version of my tools with decent working pliers, screwdrivers, and the like.
BUT… I can guarantee than within a fortnight I’ll be hunting for a particular tool that I know I’ve got, and couldn’t have thrown away’cos I’m not that stupid, am I?

I collected the reconditioned/cleaned set of carbs for my 1977 CB550/4 F2 yesterday, need to find time to refit them now. Waiting for the tank to be repaired and painted.

I donated my imperial spanners/sockets to a charity that sends them to Africa.

Had a nice ride around leafy Surrey today, with not much traffic, which was a plus. I had expected more folk to be out and about, it being a Bank Holiday weekend, but I'm not complaining!
Stopped for lunch at the bakery in Effingham (once home and now final resting place of Barnes Wallace). They do a nice sausage roll and a very good cup of coffee.
Bike never missed a beat (never does) - I must get out and do this more!

I got a 6ft long tool chest with 8 draws and a 6 drawer standing chest with a 5 drawer on top. Plus 4 old wooden chests that contain my dad's and his dad's tools. They are rusty as hell, and all the spanners are Withworths, so no good for anything. I just can't send them to the tip.
The only tool i chuck has to be broken. But like you, if i get rid of them, I know i will need that tool in a week or so.

I think we all suffer from tool porn.Get a tool for a specific job and never use it again. But you know what, its there should we ever need it.And we admire the full chest

Nope, I’m an addict. I buy tools ‘just in case’, so when something happens I know I’ve got just the tool for the job!
The next problem is remembering where the hell I’ve put it…
I haven’t got a full chest, I’ve got over-stuffed drawers!
