Put all the bodywork back and fitted a new air filter. Thought that i changed it last time, but the date ive written on it proved me wrong. 8/6/2023. I wondered why I had four new filters on the shelf. To be honest, apart from the slight rust on the front grill of the filter, i was pretty clean. Oh, add the two leaves.
That filter had done 28,000 miles. So Southern France and our south coast must have clearer, less particulate air than up north.

Finally got around to replacing my fuel strip last week using the new oe part. It's nice to have it working again and this time both the fuel level and remaining range seem spot on. The last one was terrible but I guess you never know whether it was calibrated properly when fitted.
I wonder how long it will last.............!

Waiting for a new bed to arrive. Tried to be romantic and jumped on the bed and went straight through. My wife thought it was funny. First time she has cracked up since her cancer op.

Painted/oiled the decking, my annual bête noire. It’s such a messy horrible job that I find myself prevaricating throughout the year until my conscience finally wears me down. But it’s done now, and just in time for winter.
Over the weekend I want to clean the bike following a visit to see my son necessitated a 2 hour ride via London’s maze of 20mph restricted roads

and then fit a Roadlok.
It looks and reads relatively simple to do but advice from anyone who’s fitted the device would be welcomed please…

Fitted a Roadlok to a mate's bike. Quite straightforward. Use the correct spacers and bolts for the caliber setup. Tighten the bolts to the correct measurement.
When fitting the lock, make sure the key is in place. Once the key is removed, the lock should stay in place.
His was secondhand and came with no destructions. The hardest part was working out the distance for each spacer.

I watched the videos, read the instructions (which weren’t that great) several times, then headed for the garage and figured out myself. Now fitted and working.
If you’re OCD then note that the slightly more expensive anodised gold one isn’t the same shade as the Brembo’s or the forks.

This review describes it far better than I could Gary, a good bit pricey but not as much as the bike cost!

Decided to hang up mi leathers last September and retire from biking (for the fourth or fifth time). So what rolls up today, a van bearing goodies. A R1200 GS TE 2012 in Silver. 28k miles, full luggage and looking pretty smart other than a bit of grot round the front engine cover.
The better half thinks I'm a 2@ and she's probably right but when that itch comes back, you just gotta scratch it. Will let you know in time which is 'the better bike'
Would be grateful if anyone knows what TE means (it does have ESA) and piccies tomorrow if the sun shines.
