I have both cat and de-cat oe systems for my Buell Ulysses + a very nice APH handbuilt system. The APH is beautifully made (unlike the previous Remus which fell to bits) sounds great and gives excellent power/torque but I find myself riding much slower than with the oe systems because of the volume.
Tricky situation.....should I ride like a twat or sound like a twat?

The body of the silencer split near to the mounting bracket on the rhs. It's a Buell specific issue but the quality of materials and construction were simply not up to the job.
With the baffles fitted it felt very flat compared to standard; with them removed it was noisier than the APH and still not as powerful. As usual, when it comes to the noise/power/reliability equation, the manufacturers generally know what they're doing. It's just a shame that Buell only did it in mild steel not stainless!
