Here is the attachment point. It snaps into the base.

Does the cable fit OK, looks as though it is tight

It actually fits fine. I have never had an issue with it, though to your point it does appear loose. I frequently commute with my RT, and take off the Carpuride prior to walking way from the bike.

Here is a quick video of me mounting it to the base:

I'm looking at getting one of these Carpuride 502b for my 2018 R1200RT, but had a few questions for those that have installed them on an RT LC.
- Does the wonder wheel control the Carpuride? Does it work well?
- Is the Carpuride screen a touchscreen? Can you work it with a glove on? Or do you require special touch enabled gloves like with an iPhone?
- Streaming music from your cellphone through Apple Carplay does the music play through the bike's speakers? (I have the BMW factory stereo on the bike)

Thanks for your help. (can't wait for this Canadian winter to end! although it just really started.... :()

Carpuride does not work with the Wonder Wheel. Chigee does, though the Chigee is quite a bit more expensive.

Carpuride is a touchscreen, and you would need capacitive gloves.

Because I use a Sena unit connected to my iPhone, 95% of the time I can simply say “Hey Siri” and get what I need. I don’t use the BMW speakers, so I am unable to answer that question for you.

Ride safe!

With interest I read about this topic, since I am looking to replace the old Navigator V on my R1200RT LC for something more modern and shiny :)

as Tim I also wonder if you can connect the bluetooth from the bike with the Carpuride,
because I also like to use my factory speakers, as riding in group keeps my Sena free for the TomTom Rider and the Mesh-comms.

for the RT I would prefer the 7 inch screen, and I see you have posted on here it definately would not fit.
On another post I found this :

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/167047695149 ... media=COPY

Dude called planefixers makes these, and sells m on ebay. looks like a pretty good solution, and others say they are happy after buying it...

@Micah : would you prefer a 7 inch screen over the 5 inch you are using now, if you would have to order one now ?

So, still hope to find an answer about the speakers.

I thought I'd chime in here since I just received and installed Carpuride's recently-released W502BS unit which is a newer version of the the 502B and is supposed to have wonder wheel, bike data, and TPMS support.
https://carpuride.com/collections/front ... controller

I took a gamble that it would work since I have the OEM nav mount, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be compatible with the 2014 R1200RT. Android Auto works well and the screen looks excellent, but no data from the bike and wonder wheel interface doesn't work. Carpuride support was pretty quick to get back to my with a firmware update to try and resolve it, but it didn't help.

Thought I'd mention it here in case someone with the same vintage RT is looking to buy the new BS series. You can stick to the older (cheaper) B series it seems.

sad to hear about that Chatty

my 2018 won't be able to communicate either with the BS version then I presume.

but the 5 inch screen seems to fit nicely. Would you consider the 7 inch to be a good choice to fit into the RT dashboard ?

if so, I think it would be my choice to go for the W702B pro then.

The 7-inch version would not fit without modifying the plastic panel.

Even the 5-inch version (shown in my photo) has little clearance and the power button and CF Card slot are not accessible when installed.

I’ve got the 502 fitted and paired up with the phone, but… I’m blaming my age as I can’t make head nor tail of the BT options.

I currently have 2 Sena 10R’s for comms between me and Wifey, plus of course satnav and phone. How do I connect this combination up on the Carpuride? I appreciate I won’t have a satnav BT connection as that’ll be on the phone, but how to enable us babbling away to each other as well?

I obviously need satnav on full time for directions on tour but don’t want to cut wifey out of the conversations during this. Is that possible? Probably easy for solo, but 2 up may be different.

Got a 702 unit installed on my R1200RT (2011 model) with a custom adapter by the previous owner.
Works like a charm!

Now, after pairing it with my cardo freecom 2X I noticed that sound quality was suddenly horrible. While it can be marginally improved by fiddling with the carpuride audio equalizer, it was still bad. Also, the cardo buttons & wheel didn't work at all.

After a quick search, I found the following video and a working fix to the audio issue + cardo buttons:

Hope it helps someone with the same problem :thumb:

Not for Carpuride, but a 10.25” screen I added to my ‘15 RT.
Will share pictures tomorrow.

Glad to work with you to tweak the CADD file and send you one to try if it would be helpful. Just PM me.

Some pics attached...
Nice work on the mount,
i sent you a PM about the STL file, since i am new to the board, i don't know if you got it

I also got the W702BS knowing it won't fit on my 2014 RT LC. But since the hole pattern is AMPS standard, you can easily create something yourself.

I got 2 of these: https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005008586062684.html and the shortest connector of these: https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005004754048094.html.

Put your windscreen all the way up, remove the top dashboard thingy (2 screws on top, 2 plastic screws on the front/side) which holds the BMW mount and replace the mount with one of the two ball mounts, mount the mounting adapter on the other one, put it all back together and connect it with the 5.5cm connecter. Big advantage is you can still easily remove the Carpuride and adjust the angle of it so you can still see all of the dashboard!
