I do to a certain extent but after fecking up both panels(tabs)i wasn't keen on taking them off again.But in my defence(and I did start a thread exactly the same as owl's)I wasn't warned or told about those bloody tabs.It was an expensive lesson learned.Still,all worked out and everyone gets the protector on

That is above & beyond - thank you so much for doing that for me.
I have just spent the last hour trying to feed the strap down behind that panel and failed miserably - there's just not enough room.
Armed with your photos I will have another go either this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

Once you’ve taken a panel off a couple times it literally takes 1 minute

, it was a similar place on the left side but not identical I don’t think. I’ve only removed the harness once since fitting it and that was to change an air filter.

I've got the offside strap done, thanks to those photos.
I have to get the bike out of the garage to do the nearside one, and it's raining now, so will try tomorrow.
