Sorry for posting this on here, but i'm just a bit upset today.
Today is a sad day for me, as i found out this morning my best mate Ian died yesterday.
We knew he did not have long left, but none of us thought it would be this soon.
He would of been 61 on the 2nd September.
He leaves behind a loving wife, 2 sons and loads of grandchildren and many friends.
I will keep the memories we have and smile at the ones of us picking up all them non running cars and towing them home on a bit of rope (Land Rover 90 with no brakes springs to mind ).
Good bye my friend xxx
At 3.55pm my wife best friend passed away. We are both feeling very sad as it was only 10 days ago my best friend Ian died.
They were husband and wife and had been married for over 40 years.
Kath was taken in to hospital just after Ian died, and her sons said she just gave up because they were eachothers worlds.
We are going to miss them both very much and cant belive they are both gone.
Delayed return to England due to really bad weather in northern France. Brilliant ride back from La Roche. No motorways or tolls, Only used RN roads. Lovely tiny villages and towns. Only added 2 hours to the trip back. Love the bike, she maybe an old girl with over 60000 miles on the clock but never misses a beat.
Got home very late last night to find the wife asleep in bed. She didn't even realise I was home til I flushed the loo around 7am. What she didn't tell me was that she was released from the Hospital 2 hours after I left for the ferry. She must be better as she had washed all the carpets, cleaned the windows inside and out and even valeted the car. If I didn't know her I would have thought she made it up just to miss the wedding but I know how close she is to her brothers.
Trust me I am a retired Doctor and lecturer at Oxford University of Structural and Mechanical/Electrical engineering. May the shaft be with you
Well today i thought i would go for a nice ride.
I got half way to Abber and turned around back home.
To many day dreaming drivers and to many power rangers.
So i now back home in my safe place leaving them all to it.
Will go out another day.
Visited Son in London yesterday, Daughter in Cirencester today, and out for coffee in Hampshire with a mate tomorrow… putting a few miles on the bike and enjoying roadworks/traffic queues/morons, all in all a standard Bank Holiday weekend!
