Rear shock removal

Just wondering how big a job it is to remove an esa rear shock on an RT ?. I suppose all I'm looking to do is remove and grease up the bottom mount.

Struggling to find a video for an lc Steve.Steve398 wrote: Tue Jun 06, 2023 6:20 pm I’m sure I saw a YouTube on it. From what Lucas at Ttech said the rear is far easier than the front.
I’ve no idea, I thought I’d heard talk on here somewhere of bottom shock mounts seizing up due to water and crud from the wheels saturating that area. Our Gee wrote: Wed Jun 07, 2023 6:03 pm Never had to remove a Rear ESA shock but I have removed the Front one on my 2013 Twin Cam and that was a pig due to the BMW Default practice of liberal "Thread Lock" on initial assembly. No doubt the Rear will have been be similarly assembled. What puzzles me is what part of the bottom mount do you think requires Grease. As far as I can recall the bottom mounting Pin locates through a Sleeve which is encapsulated in a Rubber Bush.( Used to call Silent Bloc Bush.) I would keep any Grease well away from this. Maybe others with more knowledge will be along.
Thanks Stu, I’ll have a look on my phone, pdf won’t open on my iPad !.
