Firstly I'm at 200,000km and looking to replace my cam tensioner(s) - annoying ticking and mileage - and wanted to know:

1. Is this something I can EASILY do myself i.e access and,

2. would an aftermarket part be suggested and if so site suggestions.

Yes very easy to replace both the tensioners just unscrew them and screw the new ones in with a new washer and to the correct torque

I would personally stick the the OEM parts

NO...
On th R1200RT it is impossible to get the left tensioner out because the telelever joint is in the way!
So the telelever must come off! It's not an easy job!

This is not true

I have taken the tensioner out on both side when doing a valve check and they aren't anywhere near the telelever

Are you maybe talking about an earlier model
